DNS Provider Setup
After adding a domain in Mailtani, you'll receive a set of DNS records to add to your domain's DNS provider. This guide covers how to add those records in the most common DNS providers.
Cloudflare
- Log in to dash.cloudflare.com and select your domain.
- Click DNS > Records in the left sidebar.
- Click Add record for each record from Mailtani.
- Set the Type (CNAME or TXT), paste the Host and Value from Mailtani.
- Set Proxy status to DNS only (grey cloud icon) — do not proxy DNS records for email verification.
- Click Save.
Tip: Cloudflare propagates within seconds to a few minutes.
Namecheap
- Log in to namecheap.com and go to Domain List.
- Click Manage next to your domain, then select the Advanced DNS tab.
- Click Add New Record and choose the record type (CNAME or TXT).
- In the Host field, enter only the subdomain part. For example, if the record host is
mail.yourdomain.com, entermail. - Paste the Value from Mailtani.
- Click the green checkmark to save.
Tip: Namecheap propagation typically takes 15–30 minutes.

- Log in to godaddy.com and go to My Products.
- Click DNS next to your domain.
- Scroll to the correct record type section and click Add.
- In the Host field, enter only the subdomain part (e.g.
mail, notmail.yourdomain.com). - Paste the Value from Mailtani, set TTL to 1 hour, and click Save.
Tip: GoDaddy propagation typically takes 30 minutes to 2 hours.
AWS Route 53
- Go to the AWS Route 53 Console and open your Hosted Zone.

mailformail.yourdomain.com). - Set Record type to CNAME or TXT and paste the Value from Mailtani.
- Click Create records.
Tip: Route 53 usually propagates within 60 seconds.
Porkbun

- Click the DNS button next to your domain.
- Select the record type (CNAME or TXT) from the dropdown.
- Enter the Host (subdomain only) and Value from Mailtani.

Other Providers
The steps are similar across all DNS providers:
- Find the DNS management or DNS records section for your domain.
- Add a new record with the Type, Host (name/subdomain), and Value (content/target) shown in Mailtani.
- When entering the Host, use only the subdomain portion if your provider automatically appends the root domain. For example, use
mailinstead ofmail.yourdomain.com. - Save each record and then return to Mailtani to click Check Status.
Troubleshooting
Records not verifying after 30 minutes?
- Double-check that the Host value doesn't have your root domain appended twice (e.g.
mail.yourdomain.com.yourdomain.com). - Make sure Cloudflare proxy is set to DNS only (not proxied).
- Use dnschecker.org to verify propagation globally.
- Some providers (GoDaddy) can take up to 48 hours in rare cases.
TXT records not found?
- Ensure there are no extra spaces in the value when copying.
- Some providers wrap TXT values in quotes automatically — you should not add quotes yourself.
