Cookie Policy

Last updated: May 28, 2026

This Cookie Policy explains how mailtani ("we", "us", "our") uses cookies and similar technologies on mailtani.com.

What Are Cookies?

Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. They help websites remember your preferences and maintain your session.

Your Consent

When you first access the Service, a cookie consent banner is displayed. You can choose to accept or reject analytics cookies. You may change your preference at any time via Settings > Preferences or by contacting us at support [at] mailtani.com.

Cookies We Use

Essential Cookies (Always Active)

These cookies are required for the Service to function. They do not require consent under the EU ePrivacy Directive.

| Cookie | Purpose | Duration | |---|---|---| | laravel_session | Maintains your login session and CSRF protection | Session | | XSRF-TOKEN | Cross-site request forgery protection | Session | | remember_web_* | Keeps you logged in between visits (if selected) | 30 days | | analytics_consent | Stores your cookie consent preference | 1 year |

Analytics & Session Recording (PostHog)

We use PostHog for product analytics and session recordings. PostHog operates in two modes depending on your consent:

Before consent (anonymous mode):

PostHog loads immediately and collects anonymous usage data to help us understand how the Service is used. In this mode:

  • Data is stored only in memory (no cookies or localStorage are written).
  • No personal data or identifiers are linked to events.
  • Pageviews, clicks, and interactions are tracked, but cannot be tied to you.

| Storage | Purpose | Duration | |---|---|---| | In-memory only | Anonymous pageview and interaction counting | Until you close the tab |

After consent (full analytics mode):

If you accept analytics cookies, PostHog stores a persistent identifier and collects richer data:

| Cookie/Storage | Purpose | Duration | |---|---|---| | ph_* (PostHog) | Identifies your session and tracks feature usage | Up to 1 year |

In full analytics mode, PostHog additionally:

  • Links events to your account (name, email).
  • Enables session recordings (mouse movements, clicks, page navigation).
  • Retains data across sessions.

PostHog does not capture passwords, sensitive form inputs (all inputs are masked), your uploaded contact data, or your Amazon SES/IMAP credentials.

If you reject analytics cookies, PostHog is shut down entirely and no further data is collected.

Third-Party Cookies

We do not use advertising cookies or share cookie data with advertisers. The only analytics cookies come from PostHog.

Managing Cookies

You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings:

  • Chrome: Settings > Privacy and Security > Cookies
  • Firefox: Settings > Privacy & Security > Cookies
  • Safari: Preferences > Privacy > Cookies
  • Edge: Settings > Cookies and Site Permissions

You can also block PostHog specifically using a browser extension such as uBlock Origin.

Note: Disabling essential cookies will prevent you from logging into the Service.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date.
